May 16, 2025 (Friday): National Bike to Work Day: in participating communities.
June 14, 2025 (Saturday), 9:00-Noon: Poudre River Trailathlon – Thank you to sponsors, West Point Interiors (Carpet One), Mosquito Joe of Northern Colorado, The Cow Saloon & Eatery, and SCHEELS, for making this a FREE family-friendly event. It was a beautiful day! The event got members of the community to actively participate in outdoor trail activities, such as a archery, walking, running, hiking, biking, fishing, bird watching, astronomy, building birdhouses, exploring, and more. We also offered many exhibits, educational programs, and the AIMS Community College UAS (Drone) program. Click here to see what the Greeley Tribune had to say about the event.
June 25, 2025 (Wednesday): Colorado Bike Everywhere Day (also known as Bike to Work Day): This event was celebrated in all communities along the Cache la Poudre River Corridor. The Poudre River Trail had a booth at the the Archery Range in Windsor with stickers, snacks, and information for commuters and recreators.

Poudre Trail Days was cancelled in 2025 (it was originally scheduled in August), but we plan to bring it back in 2026.
September 7, 2025 (Sunday): Guided Full Moon Bike Ride and Stargazing (Corn Moon**).
This was a free, guided event. Riders started at 7:30 PM at Rover Run in Greeley and rode west or started at the Archery Range in Windsor and rode east, meeting at the Poudre Learning Center (PLC). It is a 4.2-mile trip from both locations (8.4-mile round trip). We had scheduled stargazing with the Northern Colorado Astronomical Society at the PLC at 8:00 PM. Unfortunately, the Stargazing was cancelled due to a brief thunderstorm with rain and clouds. Thank you to everyone that participated! The sky cleared fairly quickly. Had we started an hour later, the stargazing would have been excellent. We had hoped to view the moon and Saturn.
Riding on the Poudre River Trail during a full moon is a unique experience and we ask people to take these simple steps to keep themselves and other trail users safe. Use lights at night, wear a helmet, bring plenty of water, and ride with a group or a buddy. Review the forecast and dress for the weather, or stay home if the conditions are not safe. Most importantly, HAVE FUN!
September’s full corn moon is so called because this is when crops are gathered at the end of the summer season. At this time, the Moon appears particularly bright and rises early, letting farmers continue harvesting into the night. This moon is also sometimes named the barley moon, and it is often the nearest full moon to the autumnal equinox, earning the title of ‘harvest moon’. Moonrise on September 7th was at 7:45 PM MST.
